Streaming Video Resources

Linfield has access to streaming video through a number of providers. For problems with accessing content, or questions about specific titles (e.g., do we have this? how long do we have this? what link do I put in my Blackboard course?), contact Collection Development and Engagement Librarian Chase Andrews.

  • Academic Video Online (AVON). Consortial access to more than 66,000 titles, also discoverable through Linfield Libraries Search. Documentary and educational films, international films, productions of plays, and more, delivered via the Alexander Street Press platform. New videos added monthly; content removal usually occurs twice per year (January and June).
  • Alexander Street Press. Access to individually selected titles, discoverable through Linfield Libraries Search. Documentary and educational films.

  • Swank. Access to up to 50 individually selected titles, discoverable through the Swank portal. Predominantly feature films, although some documentaries are included. Requires use of Chrome or Firefox to view content. Contact Collection Development and Engagement Librarian Chase Andrews to request the addition of a new title (titles can be swapped out throughout the year); depending on demand and/or availability, not all requests may be able to be fulfilled.
  • Xfinity Stream. Students living on campus have access to live TV (including HBO), video on demand, and a DVR library. Requires students to be physically on campus and using Linfield’s wifi network to register and view via a mobile device or computer.
